Public Release Day
Our Public release day is a much anticipated event, happening annually on the first Saturday of December.
On our public release day, guests of all ages are invited to come join us in releasing some of our animals off Whiskey Dock. Many of our critters settled into our exhibits and grew over the course of our season, so we always release more animals than we collect!
On the day of, our staff will be busy working behind the scenes to get animals into buckets. Guests will line up at the front door and be handed a bucket with an animal in it, and they walk their animal down to the dock. Once a good spot on the dock is secured, the bucket is lowered into the water so the animal stays submerged throughout the whole process. The bucket is then gently tipped, releasing the animal back into it's watery home!
